Designed specifically for the Christmas market this nativity scene was originally conceived in 1984 as part of a series of pop-up interpretations of some of the most famous paintings of the Renaissance. The design was modified and based on an amalgam of three paintings (detailed on the back cover). The pop-up is rugged enough to be left on display, without sagging, for many Christmases. I only wish economics would have permitted the inclusion of an LED or two.
